My first real 3,000m peak: Fluchtkogel

In the footsteps of the "glacier priest"

Are you looking for a new alpine challenge? Then come to the mountaineering village of Vent, where the “glacier priest” Franz Senn once laid the foundations for modern alpinism. It was also the co-founder of the German Alpine Club who was the first to stand on 3,500 m high Fluchtkogel in 1869. Follow in his footsteps but not alone: surrounded by Austria’s largest glacier area at one stretch, we will accompany you on the mountain adventure of a lifetime!

Requirements

As the name suggests, you don't need any previous experience on similar mountain tours for this package. Our specialists will guide and accompany you safely through the adventurous glaciers and three thousand meter high peaks. All the necessary knowledge such as knot and rope technique, crampon technique and correct glacier crossing will be taught on site. Nevertheless, the tour to Fluchtkogel with 2 days on the glacier is not a walk in the park. In order to cope with the physical effort, you should be an experienced hiker and in a very good physical shape - walking times of up to 6 hours should not overwhelm you. This tour is just right for you if you want to take mountaineering to the next level - without any organizing, without risks, just focusing on the mountain scenery and enjoying the tour.

The day of truth! From Brandenburger Haus we now head over the glacier to Fluchtkogel at 3,500 m with a mountain and hiking guide. Here the important thing is to capture the moment and celebrate the summit victory in Tirolean style saying “Berg heil”. You really deserve it after the strenuous climb! The descent leads one last time over glacier ice and then via Vernagthütte back to Vent, where you can return to your accommodation and relax. In the evening, all participants have dinner together, including a review of the past days and the presentation of the finisher goodies.

Individual check-out and departure.

Special tip: After this unique multi-day adventure, you could take a break to regenerate at AQUA DOME - Tirol Therme Längenfeld. Or simply spend a few more days in Ötztal’s scenic nature while relaxing at lake Piburger See, for example.
