The Alps are located between an Atlantic high and a low-pressure complex over North Europe in a brisk, partially stormy north-westerly current. After improved conditions on Tuesday new frontal systems will soon follow. Until Thursday morning, however, this frontal systems will be weakened by the Atlantic high. With cloud fields and foehny winds significant precipitation is not expected. Although the next disturbance will more significantly effect the conditions on Thursday, the high will weaken this weather phenomena according to the latest weather models. Despite partially heavier and longer precipitation on Thursday and on Friday, the amounts of precipitation will probably be smaller than recently forecast. Moreover, the snow line will increase towards 1200m above sea level on Friday. This mild and significantly friendlier weather trend will continue towards the weekend. Saturday and Sunday promise longer sunny intervals and rather mild temperatures.
