ROUTE DESCRIPTIONS - MOUNTAIN HUTS
Vernagt Hütte 2,766 m
Starting point: Rofenhöfe Farms – across the meadows of Rofen to the base terminal of the goods lift – slightly ascending trail via Platteiberg and Vernagtbachtal valley.

Breslauer Hütte 2,848 m
Starting point: lift ride (double chair lift) up to Stableinalm – slightly rising trail at the beginning, steep at the end.

Similaunhütte 3,019 m
Starting point: Martin-Busch Hütte – easy walk towards Niederjoch saddle for approx.. 30 min – afterwards turn right towards the glacier moraine of Niederjoch glacier – cross the glacier (no crevasses) for another 30 min before you reach the hut. Hiking time: approx. 4 ½ hrs from Vent Martin-Busch Hütte 2,501 m Starting point: Vent – in direction Ochsenkopf lift – half way up the mountain – turn left into Niedertal valley – the slightly ascending trail leads past the new chapel and the Schäferhütte hut.

Hochjoch Hospiz 2,413 m
Starting point: Rofenhöfe farms - base terminal of the goods lift - across the impressive Rofner Schlucht gorge along a moderately ascending trail.

Brandenburger Haus 3,272 m
Starting point: Hochjoch Hospiz – steep and switchbacking trail – turn left after about 15 min – walk past the glacier snout of Kesselwand glacier - the last stage of the trail leads across Kesselwand glacier (rope team required).
Hiking time: approx. 6 hrs from Vent
Schöne Aussicht 2,846 m
Starting point: from Vent to Rofen and the base terminal of the goods lift – across the mighty Rofner Schlucht gorge to the hut, along the moderately ascending trail – on the steep footpath down to the bridge across Hintereisbach brook – switchbacking trail up to Hochjoch glacier – moderately rising path to Schöne Aussicht.

Hiking time: approx. 5 1/2 hrs from Vent
Ramolhaus 3,002 m
Starting point: from Vent via Ramolalm – steep ascent to Ramoljoch ridge (3,002 m) - descent via rocky areas down to Ramol glacier - after approx. 30 hiking minutes you reach the hut. You are strongly recommended to make this tour only in good weather and with adequate Alpine equipment.
